I read a 1973 Philadelphia Magazine article that reported ” if blighted North Philly is to be saved, it’ll have to do it itself” At first I was upset over this article and then I got to thinking “WHY NOT” . Let’s rebuild our neighborhood together. We all have something we can bring to the table. Please, lets stop waiting for the city to save us, let’s save ourselves. Tioga United began in 1996 by organizing an annual event in the Jerome Brown Playground to bring unity back in the community. We have hosted over 13 successful events. We are planning another Unity Day for September 2012 and need your help. Please contact 215-227-2858 if you have a little time to be a blessing to our community.
Monthly community meetings will be held the last Thursday of every month at 6:30 pm except July and August. Dinner will be served from 6 – 6:30 p.m. at Mercy Neighborhood Ministries at 1939 W. Venango Street
